Honey, bee sweet
Grandma's honey bee, who used to live on the top of her refrigerator. He lives on top of mine now along with my other honey bee paraphernalia ~ honey pots and a hand~embroidered bread cloth from my mom; and little bee tea candles from my mom~in~law. I love bees. Ok...I love everything; especially trinkets from the lovely women in my life.
Hi Anne Marie, yes I think it's for honey. It even has the little notch in the lid for the spoon, although I'm not sure where that might be. I don't use it for anything but looking at now ~ too old! =)
Thanks Mommy, we need to get a swarm for our hive, don't you think?
Oh, and I have been trying to remember what the name of the little white flower is a few posts back, to no avail. It's a tiny bulb, not a crocus. Lady Farmer will probably have the answer...
No, not vintage...yet! It seems that so many of my things are suddenly becoming vintage or collectable! I guess that happens when you reach a certain age...=}
I love the Lord who is the Master Gardener, my beautiful family, my humble home, and all things organic, natural, and ancient.
"I AM the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. I am the vine, ye are the branches: he that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing." John 15: 1 & 5
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. Amen

Love the hive honey pots - so cute! Are they vintage as well?
